Mirror, Mirror on the wall..

I'm afraid to look too much at my teeth. I'm kinda glad my lips are still very swollen so they cover everything that's going on. I'm not sure I want to know yet.

Ignorance is bliss sometimes...

Thank you so much for the comment you posted! I really appreciate it. I am surprised you are up and blogging and commenting after such a major surgery! I can't wait to see how you and Erin progress! Take it easy!

Hey Amy! Sounds like you're doing really well. Lots of naps and frequent meals worked well for me. You're almost through the really difficult phase so keep up the good work.

Oh yeah and I'm glad you're not finding the splint too bothersome. I'm just a big whiner! :-)

Hi Amy -
If you don't mind me asking what hospital did you have your surgery at? I had mine done 10 weeks ago at Mass General.
Just remember that this is the hardest part of it. Each day gets better and each day the drooling subsides!
Once I started drinking from a cup within a day or two things got so much easier.
Now 10 weeks post op and I had a 2nd surgery for a post op complication I am doing well and watching the swelling go down each day.
Take it easy and get lots of fluid and protein!

Aimee-I'm still undecided about the picture...i know those who have gone (or gonna be) understand but i'm afraid i'm gonna get the OH MY GOD reaction from others, which will make me nervous somethings wrong!! Maybe today i'll take one cuz i finally got to wash my hair!

Lauren, I had mine done at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA. Everyone was great there! Do you live in the Boston area? I'm on the Cape.

Amy -
I live about 20 minutes outside of Boston. You look great. It's defintely the worse time but each day gets better and better. At this point I'm just sick of follow up appt. but my braces will be off in 3 months instead of 6. I never had to have a splint (not sure why) I just had 2 elastics which I only wore for 1 week full time and then just at night and now not at all. It's weird how each dr. is so different. I never had tubes down my nose either but I wish I did to drain because I think that's what caused my 2nd surgery. Good luck and get plenty of rest.
